Match Review:
This game turned out to be a classic of the 2010 world cup tournament as the Netherlands beat Uruguay by 3 goals to 2 in front of a packed Cape Town stadium. The goal of the tournament was created on this night as a thunderous strike from Giovanni Van Bronckhorst came on the 18th minute. The Netherlands captain picked the ball up at 35 yards and struck it with his left foot from 30 yards and gave the Uruguay goal keeper no chance! Other Netherlands goals came from Wesley Sneijder in the 70th minute and Arjen Robben 73rd minute.

Uruguay put up a good fight and Diego Forlan scored an outstanding goal in the 41st minute and their second was scored by Maximiliano Pereira in the 92nd minute to produce a mad scramble by Uruguay as they tried to force extra time.
